| Dear Hopehill Community, My name is Sam Nakai, and I’m honoured to be stepping in as Hopehill’s new CEO after Jamey’s faithful leadership. In my first couple of weeks on campus, residents and staff have welcomed me with real warmth, and it’s easy to see why this community is so special. A bit about me. I’ve been married to my wife, Soran, for 22 years, and we have two daughters, Erynne (19) and Jaine (17). My work has taken me through business, government, and nonprofit leadership in technology, education, housing, and community work. Most recently, I served at Carey Theological College. What drew me to Hopehill is simple. The mission matters. Seniors deserve dignity, stability, and a safe home they can afford. And Hopehill’s Christian roots call us to lead with wisdom, compassion, and care for those who are most vulnerable. As we enter the Christmas season, I’m reminded of the hope, generosity, and light that this time of year represents. Christmas invites us to slow down, see one another with compassion, and make room in our hearts and communities for those who need care the most. It’s a beautiful reminder of why Hopehill exists. We’re in the final stretch of our Doubling the Impact campaign. The Jim Pattison Foundation is matching every donation, dollar for dollar. It’s an incredible chance to help seniors trying to live on about $2000 a month. Every matched gift brings us closer to welcoming new people in our community and keeps someone’s mom, dad, grandparent, or friend from slipping into homelessness. If you’ve supported Hopehill before, a sincere thank you. If you’re able to give again this season, your impact will be doubled for seniors who need it most. Please consider giving here. I look forward to meeting many of you soon. Thank you for standing with Hopehill and for your continued generosity. Wishing you and your loved ones a meaningful and hope filled Christmas. |
| Many blessings to you, Sam Nakai Chief Executive Officer |
