Hopehill Senior Living, one of Vancouver’s most established senior living facilities, is pleased to invite members of the media to attend the opening reception of Threads of Time: Photographic Connections, an intergenerational photography exhibition at Emily Carr University of Art + Design (ECU). This unique event will take place on February 13, 2025 at the Michael O’Brian Exhibition Commons Gallery (1st Floor) and will celebrate the culmination of a collaborative photography project that brought together ECU students and Hopehill residents, demonstrating the power of creativity and connection across generations.
Over the past several months, students from ECU and seniors from Hopehill have worked closely to create a series of striking portrait photographs that not only capture the likeness of the Hopehill residents but also reflect their stories, personalities, and lived experiences. Throughout this process, students have guided residents through a professional photography journey, ensuring that each portrait is a meaningful representation of the individual in front of the lens. This initiative has fostered deep connections, bridging the gap between generations through artistic expression and shared storytelling.
